OUR PROGRAM
The NAP Global Network worked with the Climate Change Department of Uganda’s Ministry of Water and Environment to move forward with the development of their NAP document.
We supported climate risk assessments and provided the best methods of integrating climate change adaptation measures into water resource management at the national, sectoral and district levels.

- NAP Scientific Paper | “Climatic Impacts on Water Resources in a Tropical Catchment in Uganda and Adaptation Measures Proposed by Resident Stakeholders”: Our senior researcher Julie Dekens co-authored a recent journal article on adaptation planning in Uganda’s water sector. The article “Climatic Impacts on Water Resources in a Tropical Catchment in Uganda and Adaptation Measures Proposed by Resident Stakeholders,” was published in Climatic Change and draws from our in-country Uganda program.

- Integrating Climate Adaptation in Water Catchment Planning in Uganda: Outlined the results of a climate risk assessment of water resources in the Ruhezamyenda catchment in Uganda, sets out recommendations on how to incorporate the learning into planning and implementation at the catchment level, and describes lessons for the country’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process.
- Climate risk assessment: Completed and published an assessment of current and future potential water resources under different climate scenarios in the Lake Bunyonyi catchment, given the lake’s important role in the hydrology of the entire catchment.
