The National Committee on Climate Change (CNCC in French) was created to strengthen coordination of the implementation of the National Policy on Climate Change. Its structure is interministerial (including the Prime Minister’s Office and representatives from 20 sectoral ministries) and multi–actor (with representation from NGOs and the private sector) for consultation, information sharing, and exchange. The CNCC is chaired by the Secretary General of the MEDD, and the National Office for Climate Change and Reduction of Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation provides its permanent secretariat. The CNCC meets in ordinary session twice a year (Ministère de l’Environnement et du Développement Durable, 2021).
